A job vacancy has arisen within the Credit Department of Letshego Bank Namibia for the above-mentioned position, the details of the role are outlined below:
Purpose of the Job:
1. To assist in the management of credit approval and collection processes.
2. Ensures that all operational activity aligns with credit control objectives.
3. To implement the strategies, collections and tracing procedures.
4. Make sure all credit risks identified are mitigated in a timely manner.
5. Assisting with training in respect of Credit Analysts, Credit Administration and Arrears department staff.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Align the country targets for Collections to the goals outlined in the relevant Collections strategy. Explain targets to team members to ensure their comprehensive understanding as well as monitoring of execution.
2. Co-develop collections plans in conjunction with the Head of Credit and oversee the complete country execution to reduce Impairments for the portfolio under management.
3. Execute the relevant segmentation strategies into the Collections portfolio.
4. Align Collections plans and resources of the country to Group, thereby ensuring consistency. Translate and communicate the Collections strategic goals for effective execution.
5. Use and analyze industry knowledge and trends as well as customer and consumer feedback to build recommendations to improve business performance with a focus on customer rehabilitation and retention.
6. Keenly review current process and procedures and continuously innovate and look for opportunities to improve efficiency within the current processes and control frameworks. Any proposed changes that are outside approved processes require escalation within the existing framework.
7. Assess and monitor the Collections Portfolios with the focus on rehabilitation and customer retention.
8. Keenly analyze and identify accounts in Late Collections that are beyond rehabilitation and implement appropriate strategies to address.
9. Analyze and interpret Management Information trends and proactively act on these results.
10. Manage the internal incentive pool as stipulated in the approved guidelines, where the scheme has been approved and is in force.
11. Ensure that the business remains within the Impairment budget allocated to the Collections unit by reviewing performance statistics provided by the respective teams on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
12. Manage the overall performance of the Collections Portfolio for the group
13. Manage the Ageing of portfolios effectively to minimize impairments within the rules as defined in the applicable policies.
14. Accountable for the definition, agreement and achievement of pre-delinquency collections operational performance objectives
15. Accountable for identifying operating requirements and improvements for the end to end pre-delinquency and collections processes
16. Accountable for ensuring quality management information is produced to enable performance and benefits to be monitored and measured
17. Accountable for building strong relationships with service providers, including 3rd parties and internal areas, to drive out process improvements and establish operational designs
18. Ensure that processes, control requirements and risk management frameworks that have been designed for the area are understood by all members of the team.
19. Develop a high performing team by recruiting and promoting the best people in line with the business’s needs, supporting the enhancement and development of people, embedding formal performance development and informal coaching.\
20. Preparation of credit reporting information for onward submission to Management, Audit and Board Committees
Knowledge and Experience Required of Job Holder:
1. Grade 12 (25 points), original certified
2. The applicant must be in possession of an applicable Business, Accounting or Economics degree
3. The applicant must demonstrated knowledge of financial statements and the interpretation thereof
4. The applicant must have at least five (2-5) years Micro Finance or Banking experience, preferably in a collections and recovery or credit environment.
5. At least 3 years Supervisory experience.
6. Namibian Citizenship
