Key Accountabilities:
1. Generate all the required reports – such as customer deposits, loans and advances, fixed deposit schedule for management reporting package and verify them against general ledger.
2. Liaise with all departments and branches as necessary for input required for CFO report.
3. Liaise with all relevant business units to provide input required for yearly budget.
4. Monitoring of all expense lines to ensure they are not above budgeted figure.
5. Produce daily profitability reports, trial balances and other ad hoc reports as requested.
6. Support preparation of IFRS Annual Financial Statements, schedule of financial position, schedule of Profit or Loss and Other Comprehensive Income.
7. Rendition of Monthly Returns to regulators
8. Provide support to internal and external auditors as required and especially during audit of the annual financial statements.
9. Provide support for the completion and preparation of working papers required in the annual audit.
10. Ensure all general ledger controls are performed regularly such as schedule of Income lines with the GL, Interest Income on Loans, Interest Income on Placements, Interest Income on Treasury Bills, Fees and Commission Income, Other Operating Income, Check schedule of Expense lines with the GL, Interest Expense on Deposits, Staff Expenses, Depreciation and Amortized Expenses, Impairment charge for Credit Losses, Operating Expenses.
Education and/or Experience Required
1. A relevant first degree in accounting, financial management, finance or similar;
2. Must be a qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA)
3. Must possess not less than 3 years accounting experience in a busy, progressive and tightly managed business, including: monthly reporting, annual budget preparation, cash flow reporting and statutory accounts
4. Experience of computerised accounting systems, including report adjustments.
5. Practical knowledge of how to input, access and utilize information from the network / systems to analyze and forecast trends.
6. Ability to ‘think outside the box’ and to assimilate data into meaningful financial information proficient Microsoft Office user especially Excel.
7. Good verbal and written communication skills.
