The role is expected to lead the Group Tax team and is responsible for strategic tax planning and ensuring tax compliance for the group is met in accordance with the applicable tax regulations. The role would also be required to represent the group in liaising with Tax Authorities.

Requirements |
1.Responsible and accountable for all aspects of domestic and global tax strategies, including tax compliance, reporting, tax audit, and controversy.
2.Expected to work closely with internal and external stakeholders to have a deep understanding of the group's vision and business plans to develop comprehensive tax solutions and tactical plans in support of the group's expansion. 3.Responsible for and ensuring the transfer pricing documentation reports are filed and defensible to address future tax audits. 4.Monitor Group 's consolidated tax positions and strategies to keep the Group's consolidated tax position at the optimum level. 5.Provide internal tax advisory and support to internal stakeholders on various matters such as new products launching, M&A, new business line on a prompt basis. 6.Liaise with external tax advisers and build a rapport with them to monitor changes in legislation that would impact the entities in the country and propose solutions in managing the change. 7.Able to represent the company in liaising with tax authorities with maturity and attending to tax controversy issues raised by the tax authorities. 8.Manage multi-location teams and cross-functional project teams 9.Identify and champion process improvements 10.Participate in the internal and external audit process Qualifications and Experience Qualifications: •CIMA or ACCA or equivalent qualification. • Holding a Diploma in Taxation offered at Botswana Accountancy College will be an advantage. Background/Experience: •Minimum 10 years of working experience with a combination of professional working experience in a tax environment and currently holding a senior regional tax role in any leading MNC. •Having knowledge in minimum two of these countries’ taxation (Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda) •Able to articulate complicated tax rules in a simple language to internal stakeholders. •Have extensive experience in dealing with tax authorities and regulators on tax audits (field and desk audit). •Is comfortable to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity. •Strong ownership and ability to provide various tax support to different stakeholders •Mature, proactive, resourceful and hands-on with good initiative Independent worker who is able to work well with minimal supervision. |
