Department: Group Operations, Shared Services.

 

Reporting to: Group Head of Shared Services.

 

Location: Gaborone Botswana.

 

Position Requirements.

 

  1. Education:
  • At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in HR positions level.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience leading a HR Shared Service or business service operations team utilising service management principles.
  • Experience in Organizational Design, Process Design and Re-engineering, and Change Management.

 

  1. Experience:
  • At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in HR positions level.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience leading a HR Shared Service or business service operations team utilising service management principles.
  • Experience in Organizational Design, Process Design and Re-engineering, and Change Management. At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in HR positions level.

  1. Certifications:
  • Member of a HR professional body

 

  1. Knowledge:
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, processes and tools
  • Strong knowledge of change management methodologies
  • Knowledge of HRIS and payroll systems
  • Knowledge of Human Resources practices and legal requirements.
  • Working knowledge of the critical components of a successful HR department including employment law, performance management, resolving conflict, having difficult conversations, employee engagement, training, maintaining employee files, and managing operational budgets.

  1. Main Purpose (Why does the exist)

To coordinate the HR shared services in the Group, supporting HR operations processes, systems and associated transaction management.

 

  1. Critical Deliverables /Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • Oversees the incorporation and delivery of HR shared service offerings with a keen focus on Payroll processing.
  • Monitors data integrity in systems and ensures appropriate and relevant audit controls are in place.
  • Contributes to the development and testing of HR data collection forms or questionnaires in area of expertise to ensure the collection of relevant data in line with defined requirements.
  • Prepares performance reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising data and trends.
  • Analyses key performance data to partner with internal and HR partners to identify, recommend and drive process improvements.
  • Builds and maintains a positive environment to train and develop team members to foster understanding of broad HR principles, policies, procedures and systems with a high level of customer service focus.
  • Uses established protocols and tiered escalation, ensure response to issues and requests from HR, employees and managers in accordance with service levels agreements (SLAs).
  • Helps build a culture of Manager & Employee Self-Service (MSS/ESS) leveraging technology, service delivery, and documentation (both content & knowledge).
  • Builds dashboards & reporting to enable Business Reviews and ongoing evaluation of service health and customer experience.
  •  Continuously improve the quality of HR data and the integrity of downstream analytics – ensuring meaningful and trustworthy business metrics.
