Position Title: IT & Operations Manager
Reports to: CEO
Location: Eswatini – Manzini
Education
- Degree in ICT, Information Systems, Business Information Technology, Operations Management or equivalent.
- Microsoft or Cisco certifications a plus (CCNA, CCNP, MCPMCP/MCITP/MCITP/CCNA, etc.) will be an added advantage.
Experience
- At least 5 years of working experience, with 3 years in supervisory/management role working within various ICT roles, ranging from support, design, architecture, deployments, and security
- Cloud technology – planning of cloud transitioning, running and optimizing a cloud service for performance and cost.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of network administration and support, cyber security, digitisation, disaster recovery
- Broad knowledge of IT infrastructure tools and services (Networks, Servers, Printing, Security, and Voice).
- Broad knowledge of hardware, networks, operating systems, databases and information security in a virtualized environment
- Minimising the operational risk in the business units and across the platform.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL disciplines
Skills
- Ability to set up and maintain infrastructure in branch offices (Experience in Windows Servers 2012-2019, VMWare 6.7 (and newer), VMWare Horizon).
- Able to convert technical jargon to a business audience
- Flexibility to respond and adapt to new, different, or changing situations, requirements, or priorities. (Experience with overall infrastructure components like databases, storage, backup, network (WAN/LAN), firewalls, and monitoring).
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
Main Purpose of the Job
- To be responsible for delivering the country’s ICT infrastructure, including networking, designing, installation, configuration, support and maintenance of hardware, operating systems enterprise service management tools, and the country’s core IT Delivery and support systems.
- To ensure that the development, design, operation and improvement of the business systems are aligned with the organization’s strategy, are in conformance with all regulatory requirements and are provided at an effective cost.
- To understand the ICT and operations risk that the business faces and ensure that effective controls and procedures are in place throughout the business to mitigate risk.
Critical Deliverables /Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Oversees and ensures the implementation of the Country Corporate Compliance Programme.
- Evaluate local area network (LAN) or wide area network (WAN) performance data to ensure sufficient availability or speed, to identify network problems, or for disaster recovery purposes.
- Monitors adherence to ICT and operations policies and procedures.
- Implements Business Continuity Management plans across the Subsidiary and Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) issues to address the pandemic or any major disruptive event.
- Implements and ensures country projects are within set timelines, on budget, and in agreement with procedures and methodologies.
- Performs internal control routines on all core processes that improve internal controls to minimize operational losses.
- Monitors customer service management and provides monthly customer feedback reports.
- Facilitates office space and allocation.
- Analyses and identifies computer network breaches or attempted breaches for network security.
- Ensures daily network backup data.
- Conducts research on hardware or software products to meet the technical networking or security needs of the subsidiary.
- Ensures installation of new hardware or software systems or components, for integration with existing network systems. Configures wide area network (WAN) or local area network (LAN) routers or related equipment.
