Position Requirements

Education

  • University degree in Computer Science or related field, Business Information Systems, Statistics, Physics, Mathematics or other related fields.
  • Master’s degree is an added advantage

 

Experience

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in business analytics and sales analytics or similar areas, preferably within the financial services industry
  • Experience in data mining, data analysis and data management
  • Advanced SQL experience working with large datasets (create, maintain, and improve data sets, pipelines and reporting)
  • Experience executing SQL queries of advanced complexity, Excel VBA, Tableau, Phython, Machine Learning Forecasting
  • Teradata SQL experience is an added advantage
  • Experience analyzing and deriving meaning from unstructured data sets
  •  

Certifications

  • SQL is required
  • ITIL and DBA are added advantage

Knowledge

  • Understanding of product and sales performance metrics.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
  • Understanding of statistical concepts and techniques for analysing trends, patterns, and anomalies in data.
  • Familiarity with BI tools that facilitate data visualization, exploration, and reporting, such as Tableau, Power BI, Jasper
  • Understanding of information systems architecture, components, and integration processes
  • Awareness of data privacy laws and regulations and ability to ensure data compliance and security
  • Understanding of data governance practises to maintain data quality, accuracy and integrity.

To gather, analyse and present data to support business decision-making and improve organizational efficiency.

 

Critical Deliverables /Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis using internal and external data (e.g. customer, user, revenue, product, market, industry) to derive insights that will drive business decisions.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the micro-lending business, analysing business and product trends (including regional, channel and vertical performance), recognizing opportunities, and present recommendations in either visual or written format to stakeholders.
  • Conduct deep dives through complex data analysis to extract meaningful reports and insights for the sales and product leadership teams.
  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams, driving results in the form of data insights and building strategic partnerships
  • Conceptualise, build, manage and maintain centralized tools (including dashboards) that the business and Analytics teams can use to extract data/insights for daily business management in an automated manner
  • Provide support and maintenance to existing management information systems (MIS).
  • Develop MIS documentation to allow for smooth operations and easy system maintenance.
  • Provide recommendations to update current MIS to improve reporting efficiency and consistency.
  • Develop MIS system for customer management and internal communication.
  • Generate both periodic and ad hoc reports as needed.
  • Understand customer problems and provide appropriate technical solutions.
  • Analyze business information to identify process improvements for increasing business efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to resolve recurring customer issues.
  • Provide customer support and assistance in issue troubleshooting and resolution.
